Ham/Beef Vegetable Soup
Large Pot or Crock Pot
2-3 Quarts of Water
Your choice of meat (ham bone, stew meat, or beef)
1 large Yellow Onion
3-4 Carrots
3 Medium White Potatoes
1 Large Sweet Potato
2 Quarts of Canned Tomatoes
A mixture of your choice of Vegetables (i.e., Green Beans, Lima Beans, Peas, Corn, etc.)
Salt and Pepper to taste
2 teaspoons of sugar
Place 2-3 Quarts of water into a pot. Place meat into the pot and cook until tender (time will depend on the kind and size of meat being used). Remove the meat from the pot and cut it up. Add all vegetables, salt and pepper, and sugar to the pot and heat on medium heat for 2-3 hours or 6-8 hours in a crockpot. Add cut-up meat back into the pot with the vegetables to warm a few minutes before serving.
